Wikipedia, one card at a time.

Five cards in every booster, all pulled from Wikipedia: a cult game, a film, a star, a Greek god, a galaxy, an animal. What you keep is up to you.

The first booster is on us, no account needed. If you like the cards, sign up and they're yours.

Six universes

One booster per universe

Your packs work everywhere: each time you open one, you pick the universe. Cards and albums follow.

So what is WikiDeck?

The Wikipedia card game, in six universes

We took Wikipedia's articles and turned them into collectible cards, sorted into six universes: video games, film and TV, celebrities, myths, cosmos and the living world. Tetris, The Godfather and Zeus are in there, of course, but so are studios that closed, films nobody saw and beetles you have never heard of. It runs in the browser, it is free, and there is nothing to install.

How it works

  1. Open

A free pack every ten minutes. Five cards inside.

  2. Collect

Every card comes with a rarity and a finish. A Legendary does not turn up every day.

  3. Complete

The “Game Boy” card opens the Game Boy album. Then you go find the games.

  4. Trade

Duplicates go to auction, or to a friend in a trade.

  • 6 universes to collect
  • 5 cards per pack
  • 10 minutes between two free packs
  • 6 rarities, from Common to Legendary
  • 2 separate markets: French and English

Frequently asked questions

What is WikiDeck?
A free collectible card game that runs in the browser. Every card comes from a Wikipedia article, in one of six universes: Gaming, Film & TV, Celebrity, Myth, Cosmos and Living.
Is it really free?
Yes. You get a pack of 5 cards every 10 minutes, and the reserve holds up to 10 while you are away. You can subscribe or buy packs to go faster, but that changes nothing about your chances of pulling a rare card.
What are the universes?
Six: Gaming (games, studios, consoles), Film & TV, Celebrity, Myth, Cosmos and Living. Your packs work in all of them: each time you open one, you pick the booster. A universe opens as soon as its catalogue is ready.
Where do the cards come from?
From Wikipedia, in French and in English, and from Wikidata. The text is under CC BY-SA 4.0 and every card links back to its article. WikiDeck is an independent project, not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.
What makes a card rare?
Luck, and nothing else. Every card you pull gets one of six rarities, from Common to Legendary, with odds published on the site. An obscure game can come out Legendary and a Mario game Common.
Can I trade or sell my cards?
Yes: trades happen between friends, sales at auction. Everything is paid in credits, the game's currency. You earn them by playing or buy them, and they never turn back into money.
How does it compare with WikiMasters or WikiGacha?
They make a card of any article, all in one pile. Here cards are sorted into six universes, with albums to complete: a series, a director, a mythology, a constellation, a family of animals. And rarity is drawn at random: it does not depend on how famous the subject is.
